PRESS RELEASE: CORNERSTONE EAST CARLTON 5

Corby Athletic Club is organising a 5 mile road race to take place on 25th September 2005. The race is to be known as the Cornerstone East Carlton 5 miles race.

The race start and finish will be in East Carlton Country Park, which is just outside Corby on the A427 towards Market Harborough. Starting time is 10.00 hours.

The five miles course will be along quiet country roads and will be quite challenging. New runners are welcome to participate, although there is a minimum age of 15 years, due to insurance conditions. The race will be run under UK Athletics rules. Advance entry fees are £7.50 per person, with a £1 reduction for members of UKA affiliated athletics clubs.

Entry will be available on the day, with an extra charge of £1 per person.

The Club is hoping that around 200 runners will participate and that it will become an annual event. All finishers will receive a medal, and there will be trophy prizes for the age group winners.

The race is sponsored by Cornerstone Training of Leicester and Market Harborough, whose generous support is much appreciated.
